“Courage is not the lack of fear, it is being willing to act in the face of fear.” – Wendy Preyssler

How do I create a leadership plan?

First, determine your definition of success. What is your long-range goal; and how will that goal help to create your legacy? From there, determine the milestones that need to be accomplished. Next, put in place an action plan starting with the end in mind. Gain an understanding of what will shift in your life as a result of achieving this goal. This is the “what for” about the goal. In the project design, include milestones and specific actions to achieve each of the milestones.

How do I lead with purpose, kindness, and confidence?

Transformation is achieved one milestone at a time. It’s important to set goals and determine on a regular basis if you are on target. If you are not on target, determine what is in the way. Look at the attitudes, beliefs, and perceptions that may be limiting your possibilities. Ask yourself this question, “What about me needs to be resolved or addressed in order to achieve this?” Focus on the future you want to create. Understand how you are showing up on a daily basis. Get clear on who you are when you’re not your best self. Choose an International Coaching Federation (ICF) credentialed coach who does not buy into your excuses and supports you in your journey to consistently show up as your best self and achieve your goals.

How does coaching help to create better leaders?

Whether you lack the confidence and presence of a leader or you have lost your drive, coaching can support you to achieve your goals. Through coaching, you can build a plan to create a positive culture with empowered employees all focused on achieving success. By partnering with a credentialed coach who asks powerful questions, you will receive new insights. Over time, you will have the ability to self-correct and show up as the best version of yourself on a very consistent basis.

How do you choose a coach?

Coaching is an unregulated industry, so unlike therapy, coaches do not have to be licensed by the state. Just like having a medical degree is essential for any doctor, a credential provided by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) guarantees that you are receiving expert guidance from a coach with education, experience, skill, and proven results. If you are a senior leader or looking to be promoted to a senior position, look for a coach who has attained the third and ultimate level of credential as a Master Certified Coach (MCC). As a Master Certified Coach, I have the cumulative experience and demonstrated skill in the core competencies that lead to transformations for my clients.

How do you conquer fear and live in courage?

As a coach, I am not only a confidential sounding board; I am uniquely positioned to tell the truth. Straight talk and invoking awareness and insight are essential for transformation. Not taking excuses is critical in challenging my clients to get outside of their comfort zone, do what they need to do, and achieve results. High integrity leadership is not based on good intentions. It is ensuring that your intentions are aligned with your speaking and actions. We all have great excuses; the question is do we buy into them, or do we act in the face of them? The same is true for courage. Courage is not the lack of fear, it is being willing to act in the face of fear.

Becoming the leader that you were meant to be can be challenging. I have dedicated a substantial part of my life to becoming an ICF Master Certified Coach, because I am passionate about helping individuals become the leaders they were meant to be and show up as their best selves on a regular basis.
